FORWARDING EMAILS

Do you really know how to forward e-mails? 50% of us do; 50% do NOT.

Do you wonder why you get viruses or junk mail?

Do you hate it?

Every time you forward an e-mail there is information left over from the people who got the message before you, namely their e-mail addresses & names. Not to mention that some people never open Forwarded emails, so your message gets lost anyway. And did you know that merely receiving some viruses is enough for them to do their dirty work? That’s right, today’s virus-senders are so insidious they have found ways to infect your computer, even if you delete the email WITHOUT reading it!

And even though your computer runs all incoming email through a virus software program, the more times an email has been forwarded, the more junk it picks up, the more names that are added, and the harder it is for your virus, spyware and adware software to catch all the incoming garbage. No software is perfect!

As the messages get forwarded along, the list of addresses builds, and builds, and builds, and all it takes is for some poor sap to get a virus, and his or her computer can send that virus to every e-mail address that has come across their computer.

Or, someone can take all of those addresses and sell them or send junk mail to them in the hopes that you will go to the site and he will make five cents for each hit.

That’s right, all of that inconvenience over a nickel!

How do you stop it? Well, there are two easy solutions:-

Solution 1

Before forwarding an e-mail, DELETE all of the other addresses that appear in the body of the message.

That’s right, DELETE them.

Highlight them and delete them; backspace them; cut them; whatever it is you know how to do.

It only takes a second.

You MUST click the “Forward” button first, then you will have full editing capabilities against the body and headers of the message.

If you don’t click on “Forward” first, you won’t be able to edit the message.

Or alternatively -

If you want to forward something “cut” and “paste” required text/ HTML`s–onto a “new” message and then send that to your selected addressees.

Solution 2

Whenever you send an e-mail to more than one person, do NOT use the To: or Cc: columns for adding e-mail address.

Always use the BCC: (blind carbon copy) column for listing the e-mail addresses.

This is the way that people you send to only see their own e-mail address.

If you don’t see your BCC: option click on where it says To: and your address list will appear.

Highlight the address and choose BCC: and that’s it, it’s that easy.

When you send to BCC: your message will automatically say “Undisclosed Recipients” in the “TO:” field of the people who receive it.

So please, in the future, let’s stop the junk mail in its tracks and the viruses!

I have received the following information from Angie Sanchez which enhances, endorses and reinforces the information given above:-

PLEASE READ THIS. FOLLOW THE SUGGESTIONS, ESPECIALLY WHEN FORWARD SOMETHING.

The man that sent this information is a computer tech. He spends a lot of time clearing the junk off computers for people and listens to complaints about speed. All forwards are not bad, just some. Be sure you read the very last paragraph.

_________________________________________

He wrote:

By now, I suspect everyone is familiar with snopes.com and/or truthorfiction.com for determining whether information received via email is just that: true/false or fact/fiction. Both are excellent sites.

Advice from snopes.com VERY IMPORTANT!!

1) Any time you see an email that says “forward this on to ’10′ (or however many) of your friends”, “sign this petition”, or “you’ll get bad luck” or “you’ll get good luck” or “you’ll see something funny on your screen after you send it” or “your prayers will be answered” — it almost always has an email tracker program attached that tracks the cookies and emails of those folks you forward to.

The host sender is getting a copy each time it gets forwarded and then is able to get lists of ‘active’ email addresses to use in SPAM emails or sell to other spammers. Even when you get emails that demand you send the email on if you’re not ashamed of God/Jesus — that is email tracking, and they are playing on our conscience. These people don’t care how they get your email addresses – just as long as they get them.

Also, emails that talk about a missing child or a child with an incurable disease “how would you feel if that was your child” — email tracking. Ignore them and don’t participate!

2) Almost all emails that ask you to add your name and forward on to others are similar to that mass letter years ago that asked people to send business cards to the little kid in Florida who wanted to break the Guinness Book of Records for the most cards. All it was, and all any of this type of email is, is a way to get names and ‘cookie’ tracking information for telemarketers and spammers — to validate active email accounts for their own profitable purposes.

You can do your Friends and Family members a GREAT favor by sending this information to them. You will be providing a service to your friends. And you will be rewarded by not getting thousands of spam emails in the future!

Do yourself a favor and STOP adding your name(s) to those types of listing regardless how inviting they might sound! Or make you feel guilty if you don’t! It’s all about getting email addresses and nothing more.

You may think you are supporting a GREAT cause, but you are NOT!

Instead, you will be getting tons of junk mail later and very possibly a virus attached! Plus, we are helping the spammers get rich! Let’s not make it easy for them!

AND don’t forget to get rid of ALL these forwarded addresses!!!

ALSO: Email petitions are NOT acceptable to Congress or any other organization – i.e. social security, etc. To be acceptable, petitions must have a “signed signature” and full address of the person signing the petition, so this is a waste of time and you are just helping the email trackers.

Kickers are generally drafted in the last 2 rounds of Fantasy Football Drafts. Since most Fantasy Football leagues have 12 owners, your goal is to pick one of the top 12 scoring kickers in the league. There are 32 NFL teams, so you have a better than even chance to get a top 12 kicker, even in a blind draw. The difference between the best kicker and the 12th ranked kicker is only about 2 points per game. Everyone knows Gostkowski et al, but who are the true sleepers out there? Read on and pick up some extra points about sleeper kickers.

Sleeper #1
Rian Lindell of the Buffalo Bills finished the 2008 season as the 11th ranked fantasy producer at his position. However, that came in a year that saw one of his worst conversion rates ever, 79%. Because of this, he will fall in most owner’s eyes. When one looks deeper into his stats, you see that he was forced to attempt as many kicks from 40+ yards last year as his previous 2 years combined! This means that with the coming of WR Terrell Owens to Buffalo opposite Lee Evans, more attempts from 25 to 35 yards are almost guaranteed, due to the fact that Buffalo has the 13th easiest schedule for WRs. I look for production in the 138 point range, a steal as your last draft pick.

Sleeper #2
Garrett Hartley was perfect as a rookie for the New Orleans Saints last year, while playing in only 8 games. In a standard scoring format, he scored 67 points, which extrapolates to 134 points in a complete season. Getting 8+ points from a kicker you may be able to pick up in the last round is a great value, and you know Drew Brees, Marques Colston, Devery Henderson, Reggie Bush and Pierre Thomas are going to move the ball. Kicking in a dome doesn’t hurt either, and I look for the second year kicker to see about 135 points this year.

Every year, one owner gets itchy and takes a Gostkowski or Akers with 3 or 4 rounds to go, and touches off a kicker run. DO NOT get caught up in this, pick your kicker last, and take one of the sleepers mentioned above to produce maximum value. Sure a steak dinner for $15 is nice, but if you can get a hamburger for a nickle, it sure as heck tastes better.

Patrick O’Neill, an 18 year Fantasy Football Veteran endorses only one Fantasy Football League.
How about a whopping 90% payout and unlimited FREE trades?

It is hard to see a Peyton Manning or Drew Brees up for grabs and still draft a top-flight RB or WR. The number of QBs that can consistently throw 4,000 yards and 30 TDs is few and far between. Only 6 signal callers threw for 4,000 yards in 2008, and only 3 of those went for 30 scoring strikes. But the next 9 QBs averaged 24 TDs, so production does not drop off as rapidly as at RB or WR. In our ongoing article series on Fantasy Football Draft Day Do’s and Dont’s, we take the snap from center next.

Do…

…take a Drew Brees or Peyton Manning with your second pick if you landed a top 5 RB in the first round! Just realize where you are in the draft. If you have a snake draft in a 12 man league, and you pick a QB first in the second round (13th overall), it is going to be picks 36 and 37 before you pick again. The primary RB and WR talent pool will be depleted by then, so just realize if you go QB in the second, it will cost you at RB or WR.

Do…

…pass on a QB until later rounds if you can not get a surefire producer, as mentioned above. No need to pick Tom Brady early like I am already seeing in so many mock drafts. Before his 50 TD 4,800 yard season in 2007, he had never thrown over 28 TDs, and avaraged 3,500 yards a season.

DON’T…

…forget to check the 2009 NFL schedule! Peyton Manning has the 3rd most favorable schedule for QBs in 2009. Yeah, I know, like he needs the help. Tony Romo, on the other hand, has one of the toughest schedules for a QB this year. This by no means guarantees or negates productivity, but when you see that Drew Brees has two home games and one in Atlanta in weeks 14 – 16 (fantasy playoff time), it certainly merits noting.

DON’T…

…freak out if you hit round 6 and all your dream QBs are gone. In a 12 man league, you are fighting over 32 starting QBs. There are plenty of QBs out there other than Manning, Brees and Brady. I picked up Phillip Rivers in the 9th round last year, and all he did was throw for 4,000 yards and tied for the league lead with 34 TDs.

Is a QB important in Fantasy Football? Sure, but not nearly so much as RBs and WRs, since you have to start multiples at those 2 positions. Just remember not to draft on hype, or ESPN highlights; stick to your game plane as we are outlining in this Fantasy Football Secrets series, and you will increase your odds of winning dramatically. Get the best stats and information at the official NFL website, and from The Sporting News Fantasy Football Guide to further improve your chances. All the stats in this article series were obtained from these two resources.

Perhaps you are already aware of this awesome outdoor activity / game that has been enjoyed in the midwest since the 60′s.
Or maybe this is new to you. Either way, I spell out here why you should be out there right now with your bags and boards.

It is not located on your couch!

That is right, you have to actually get up and out of your house, apartment or hovel to play. We could all use the exercise and a little fresh air and sunshine. No, your skin will not catch fire vampire-like if you actually put down the computer mouse, X-BOX or WII control, or cell phone and venture forth into the light.

It is more fun than, well, just about anything!

I know, it is really just half sheets of plywood elevated 10 degrees in the back with a 6 inch hole cut in each, placed 27 feet apart, and 8 bean bags thrown toward said holes. But even those who say that it is silly, or it is just wimpy horseshoes, fall in love immediately as soon as you place a bean-bag in their hand and they fling it.
You will see them smile and say,”Give me another bag, I just want to try one more time.” Then 4 hours later, they are officially hooked.

All Ages Can Play

It is great exercise that you do not realize you are getting!

Honestly, the first time I played, we went for 6 hours, until we could not see the boards. We all finished our libations, bid farewell, scheduled another game, and retired to our own domiciles. The next day when I rose from my extra-good slumber, I was feeling worn out in places I had evidently not been using for years. But in a good way! It felt good to call my friends and talk about my sore calf muscles and gluteus maximus.

It is incredibly addictive!

There are a lot of addictive things out there that are waayyyy negative. This is addictive in a good way. Exercise, sunshine, camaraderie, competition, and fun too. How can that be bad? And trust me, when I say addictive, I mean ADDICTIVE. Before you know it you will be discussing throwing techniques with your spouse, wind effect with your opponents, and Cornholing with everyone.

Anyone Can Play!

8 of my cohorts and I recently went to a friend’s house for a cook-out and Cornhole. There was a group of grillers nearby, 10 in number, all ages and both sexes. As usual, we did not have to invite them over. The simplicity registers in their eyes as you see them think, “I can do that!” and “Why do they keep missing?” Then, while taking a break, we introduced ourselves and invited them to give it a try. Before we knew what had happened, we had met new friends, people that our host had lived by for years, but had never met. The 8 year old boys played, their older sisters, and all the adults. (And we got some of the best ribs I have ever tasted!)

So, are you ready? I know you are! “But wait a minute, how do I get the boards and bags?” you ask. Easy, resources are located all over the web, but really, it is so easy to make your own. Shoot me an email at the contact info below and let me know what you need. I will also post an article on building your own boards and bags.
Oh yeah! I almost forgot, make sure to ask for the link to the “Cornhole Song.”
If you do not get started after watching this video, you never will.

5 Things You Did Not Know About the Appalachian Trail

The Appalachian Trail, finished in 1937, is the U.S.’s longest marked footpath, in 2009 officially measured at 2,178 miles.

The Appalachian Trail was the brainchild of Benton MacKaye, a forester, planner and outdoor conservationist who proposed the idea of a government run multi-state hiking trail to anyone who would listen in 1921.
Volunteers have made MacKaye’s idea a reality. Today, the Appalachian Trail, or “A T”, is commonly called “a simple footpath” covering 14 states and 2100 miles along the Eastern Seaboard states.

5 little known facts about The A. T.

1 – The A. T. crosses 6 national parks, winds through 8 national forests and touches 14 states. It houses along its length over 2,000 rare or endangered plant or animal species. The lowest elevation is 123 feet at the Trailside Museum and Zoo, in Bear Mountain, New York, and the highest elevation is 6,626 feet at Clingman’s Dome in Tennessee.

View From Clingman’s Dome

2 – 1,500 to 2,000 hikers attempt to walk the entire length of the A. T. in one un-interrupted attempt, or season, every year. Roughly 25% finish this grueling test of endurance, and, more importantly, mental stamina. 10% quit the first week, and a full 20% quit in the first 30 miles, before reaching Neel’s Gap in Georgia. It takes between 5 and 7 months to complete.

Walasi Yi at Neel’s Gap

3 – Approximately 10,000 hikers have reported hiking the entire length of the trail, either as thru-hikers or section hikers. Since it requires 5 to 6 months to complete a thru hike, some hikers knock out “sections” when they have time, thus the name. There is no distinction between the 2 types of hikers. However you hike 2,178 miles is an accomplishment.

4 – Money. A thru-hike will cost between $3,000 and $5,000, with an additional $1,000 to $2,000 being spent on gear. Money is also spent in towns along the way; when you are burning 6,000 calories a day, a cheeseburger, milkshake, etc. seems like mana from heaven. Hikers frequently spring for a hotel room when they have the chance, when the trail heads near a town, and this adds extra mileage to the hike, getting to and from.

Start Saving Up!

5 – Abracadabra. “Trail magic” comes in 2 varieties. Trail Magic is unexpected positive happenings, occurrences and the like, whether natural or man-made. The magic of cresting a rise to see clear beautiful weather as a mother bear and her 2 cubs makes an appearance, after hiking through rain for 2 weeks, or the magic of being greeted at a shelter by strangers who hiked up to cook burgers and hot dogs for hikers, just when you were tiring of eating noodles for the umpteenth time. The stories of Trail Magic are as memorable to a hiker as the hike itself.

I hope you enjoyed these cool facts about one of our nation’s under-utilized resources.

Wow.

That is all I can say as a lifelong Atlanta Falcon fan.

And the Falcons get him for only a second round pick next year.

All-Time leader in catches, td’s and yardage for tight ends, future first ballot Hall-of-Famer, and at age 32 caught 96 balls and 10 touchdowns for a pitiful Kansas City team.

All Pro Atlanta Wide Receiver Roddy White got the ball rolling at last year’s All Pro Game in Hawaii, when he told Gonzalez he was campaigning for him to come to Atlanta. Gonzalez reportedly told him, “Come get me.”

The Falcons need blocking tight ends, though. The emphasis is on the run, and any tight end will have to hold his own as a blocker on sweeps, end runs, reverses, and dump-offs to running backs.

Tony Gonzalez is definitely no slouch there, and has always been a great blocker.

Gonzalez had 6 times the number of receptions as did all 3 of Atlanta’s TE’s last year…6 times!
And the threat he adds in the red zone, where Atlanta was very pedestrian, can not be overstated.

Who is better at pulling down balls in the back and corner of the end zone? No one playing right now, and the fact that he and 4 other Atlanta Receivers are 6’4″ and over means trouble for the shorter db’s in the wide open NFC South that led all conferences in the NFL in scoring last year.

Now, if there D can stand up, especially in the backfield, they could be playoff bound in back to back seasons, something Atlanta fans have never seen.

Oh, and by the way, Gonzalez caught balls last year from QB Tyler Thigpen, so having rookie Wunderkind Matt Ryan pitch him the ball is a huge upgrade.

Patrick O’Neill is a work from home Fantasy Football fanatic. A lifelong Atlanta everything fan, he is waiting with anticipation for this year’s Falcons season.

You have read the books, taken the courses, and listened to every cd out there on goal setting. So why hasn’t it worked?

You want it badly enough. You have a burning desire to change your life, you are willing to do anything and yet still you are barely closer to achieving your dreams than before you started educating yourself about goal achievement.

I have seen many people who possess all the tools to succeed fail miserably because they were sabotaging themselves without even knowing it.

Make sure you are not making these 5 common mistakes when pursuing and setting goals for yourself.

1 – Setting unrealistic goals

If you are Joe Shmoe on Tuesday, you will not become Donald Trump on Wednesday. People get fired up after taking Goals courses, and they feel they can move mountains, and that is great! But do not set yourself up for failure. Make your goals lofty, but make them reachable. Use the other 4 points here to refine your goals.

2 – Setting non-specific goals

It is not enough to say, “I want to be rich.” or “I want to be thin again.” Your subconscious does not work in generalities; it also accepts what you tell it to do unconditionally, so be specific. “I will be worth one million dollars.” or “I am going to weigh X number of pounds.” There are other things that need to be added to these goals, but this is the first step.

3 – No due date

The above goals are a great first step, but they need a due date, just like library book. When you take home that library book, that gallon of milk, that video, you know there is a due date, and magically, you adhere to it. Your goals are the same, but keep number 1 and 2 in mind. If you currently make $30,000 a year, maybe a goal like, “I make $50,000 a year by (date one year from today).”

4 – Goals are not personal and positive

Your conscious mind gives the orders, your subconscious mind goes about looking to fulfill them everywhere, anywhere, even when you are asleep. BUT, the subconscious mind does not understand negatives, so when you say, “I am not going to smoke.” or “I am not going to be fat.” it hears “I smoke.” and “I fat.” Make your positive, “I am a smoke-free.” or “I am slim and in good physical shape.” And remember, your goals are YOUR GOALS. If you set goals to please someone else you are asking for frustration and failure.

5 – They are not reviewed daily

As we said earlier, the subconscious mind follows whatever specific set of marching orders your conscious mind gives it on a repeated basis. You put your pants on the same way every time, you follow the same ritual in the morning every time, you brush your teeth the same way every time because of repetition.

Did you know that scientists have shown that if you do something the same way for 17 – 21 days in a row, it becomes habit? You MUST review your goals daily, the best time being when you first awaken, and right before you turn off the light at night. While your conscious mind is making coffee in the morning, your subconscious mind is already beginning to attempt to move you closer to your goals. At night, if you read before bed, that is fine, but do not review, and by review I mean READ your goals until just before you go to sleep. It needs to be the last thing you do before you sleep.
Many people have claimed that upon waking, a great insight was revealed to them that their brain had figured out during the night, as they slept, so make your goals the last bit of input.

I have personally seen this simple process work wonders in my life, and the lives of others, and I know it can for you. I wish you all the best, and as always, feel free to contact me with any questions you may have, or if you simply want to chat.

Okay, you have identified a business opportunity that promises to help you reach all your goals.
Awesome!
But you have been here before, only to be disappointed with the results your new business gave you.

So how do you know if a business is right for you, and will provide the desired results?

Here are 5 quick questions you should ask about any business venture to save yourself time and heartache, not to mention money.

1 – Who is the company?

The ideal company would be 6 -10 years old, still new, but having made it through the first few years of bumps and bruises that wipe out so many businesses. They would ideally be debt free, and offer a product or service that the majority of homes already use. The owners should have a clear business plan, stand behind their product 100%, and be personally involved in the day to day operations of the business, and be approachable by any and all employees/distributors.

2 – Is the company’s product or service a leader in its field?

This is crucial. I am not saying that selling the wares of a #2 in a huge market can not be rewarding, but why waste your time with second place? Go with the best available product in its field.

3 – Is the product consumable?

It is great to be able to make a sale one time, and then have that customer continue to come back again and again because the product they love needs to be replaced. Also, if you have already satisfied the first 2 questions, you know your customer is happy to re-purchase a product of superior quality from a company that stands behind its product.

4 – How can I make money with this?

This may sound simple, but honestly, if you do not know how you get paid, or if the pay structure requires a degree to understand, get out! Your pay plan should be simple, very lucrative, and have several options. For instance, if you have a product that is sold through Retail, Fundraising, and Residual income, and you can set your own prices, you have a real winner! You get to choose how to run your business, not the company.

5 – Can I do this?

It does not matter if all the above criteria have been met, if you can not implement the business plan. It should not require any special skills in any area, and should have a system in place that is duplicatable by anyone that can follow an A, B, C process, and have ongoing training and support.

If the business only fits 4 of the criteria, keep looking.
Believe me, I have tried several businesses that really shined in one or more of these 5 areas, but lacked in others.

Stick to these five questions, and you will find yourself in a rewarding business that will put you well on your way to realizing all your goals.

I did not mean to offend anyone, but just bear with me here.

Chained From Birth

Did you know that full grown circus elephants have been known to die in fires while chained to small stakes they could easily move.

Why is that?

It is because when the elephant was a baby, it had a 2 inch band strapped around its leg, which was then fastened to a stake that was hammered into the ground.

She soon learned the futility of trying to pull free of the chain, and mentally, accepted is a part of her life.

By the time she had grown strong and powerful, she had stopped trying to break free.

As long as she was fed and given the occasional peanut as a treat, she was content.

Then the fire came, and she died when she could have easily escaped.

That is the way you and I are sometimes.

We allow our life and abilities to be defined by “chains” we could easily snap, because we have been conditioned to believe things that simply are not true.

“I do not deserve to be wealthy.”

“I was just meant to be fat.”

” I will always be paid less than others.”

Break Your Psychological Chains

Unlike the elephant, we are rational human beings with creative imaginations.

Did you know your subconscious mind believes anything you repeatedly tell it to be true, regardless of fact?

If we can believe it and conceive it, we can achieve it.

Promise yourself to break free of your chains today.

Because of any number of circumstances, Stay at Home Moms are a large segment of the Network Marketing field.

Busy Stay At Home Mom

I believe it is because these determined women see their motivation to succeed in the eyes of their children every day. What a great reason to WANT to succeed, to provide your children with a life free of monetary worries and stress.

And the reason they succeed is every woman mom knows has common interests and goals. So it is very easy to quickly build a network of team members that truly care about each other’s success, and that is the key to successful Network Marketing.

A while back I was online surfing through chat rooms, groups and forums, looking for a home income business, and while I was in a stay at home moms forum, I noticed several of the women on the forum making money were candle selling, and operated their own Home Candle Business.

I thought, can you really make a decent living in a Home Candle Business? I researched, and discovered over 3 BILLION dollars annually are spent on candles! Nuff said.

But the real thing that makes this the Perfect Stay Home Mom Job is the ability to start on a shoestring, and work whenever you want!

But you still have to find the right company: where you get outstanding teaching and training, outstanding ongoing support, and the best product available. I have found that company, and I have found my home.

So, if you are looking for the perfect Stay Home Mom Job, you may want to consider a Home Candle Business. Chances are you may already burn candles, so you do not even have to learn a new trade!

Here is wishing you good luck and success in all that you do.
